It is difficult to objectively assess, I love this universe too much and I am ready to forgive a lot for trying to film. But, as always, the most interesting thing begins after the "But."
I will talk about everything that came out at the end of 2021, that is, about two seasons.
Season 1 was terrible, with few bright spots. It's been said a million times, but I'll record it for history.
The first failure is caste. There are some good hits - Geralt is beautiful, Tissaya is great, Renfrey is normal, Buttercup is more likely than not, Jenifer is not the limit of dreams, but actually not bad, Ciri is tolerant.
The rest is just a nightmare - Wilgeforz, Eastred, TRISS of an elderly gypsy appearance, Fringilla Vigo, black Driads, everything, I can not write, tears cover my eyes.
Many characters are plot disfigured beyond recognition - poor Kagyr became some kind of demon in the flesh and led the Nilfgaard army. Why? Who needs this?
Some Yashka Gypsy, clinging to Ciri solely for the sake of the agenda, and it was hilarious to watch as writers try to come up with his existence at least some meaning. That's not good.
Nilfgaard's armor, you know it.
The Battle of Sodden is a series of incessant facepalms.
Bright spots are actually successful hits in the cast that I mentioned, a perfectly staged action movie and some individual stories where the writers did not use their genius, but shot the whole book (for example, the story with a girder).
The second season, running ahead, I liked a little more, but still suffers from the same diseases. Something was fixed, removed the inadequate ragged presentation of the story in the form of flashbacks, Triss dyed her hair (if the problem with her was this!), in general, the plot became more dynamic.
But again - starting for health with a separate story with Nivelen (Brux by the way top), ended with a warped and disfigured plot, for which the original line is guessed only in general terms.
The actress for the role of Francesca is weak, her figure of course should be more epic and strong. Filavandrell - keep me seven, I wonder what kind of family ties this man got into the final caste. Elves in general made disgusting - they are no different from people except poorly made sharp ears.
I honestly don’t understand why and why all this, why it was impossible to take the original plot, remove the sagging places on the timeline and everyone would bow to them in the belt.
As a result, instead of the film adaptation, a terrifying cadaver turned out, from which pieces of rotten meat fall off on the go and white threads stick out from everywhere, with which the “scenarios” sewed their brilliant ideas to the original plot.
But of course we're going to watch it. Because that's our destiny.
