I sympathize with the French director and actor Ivan Attal, although as a director of masterpieces he has not yet managed to remove, but his films are still good and as an actor he is very good. That's why I watched his film "My Dog Idiot" / Mon chien Stupide, 2019, - the adaptation of the story of the American writer of Italian origin John Fante from the novel "West of Rome". The film is in the category of comedies, although there is nothing particularly comedic there, it is rather a drama from married and family life. In the lead roles he starred with his wife Charlotte Gainsbourg, and in the role of their eldest son starred their real son Ben Attal. Writer Henri Mochen lives in his villa in the wilderness with his wife Cecile, with whom they have been married for 25 years, and four already quite grown children. Once upon a time he wrote a good novel, which became a bestseller and brought him success (and, obviously, money, at least, he is not poor, although he admits that he has since written all sorts of nonsense), but since then he has somehow not got along with writing, does not write and everything here. The family also does not get along well - the wife slowly drinks every day, at the same time taking antidepressants, children also present surprises not always of a positive nature. And one day on a rainy evening, a huge dog (mastino-napoletano) approached them in the garden, which, despite attempts to drive him away, simply took and went into the house. The household reacted very differently to his appearance, but Henri decided to leave him, despite some of his not very good habits, with the filing of one of his sons, he received the nickname Idiot. Unfortunately, this served as a trigger for the family, and since then the family began to fall apart. But there's nothing wrong with good. . The film is from the genre of French conversational, so it should be borne in mind, but, in principle, not bad.
