In 1988, he made his television debut in Tell Me About Love directed by Eli Shuraki. Meeting with aspiring director Eric Roshan brought first glory to Ivan. For his role in the film “World without pity” Attal received the prize “Cesar” as “Best young actor of the year”. The second work – the role in Roshan’s film “In front of everyone” – coincided with changes in the actor’s personal life. On set, he met his future wife, Charlotte Gainsbourg. In this marriage, a son Ben was born.
Critics praised the actor’s work, comparing him to the early roles of young Pacino, De Niro and Hoffman. The third meeting on the set of Ivan Attal with Eric Roshan occurred on the set of the film “Patriots”, which tells about the Israeli secret services.
