In general, this is a rather deep film not even about prostitution, but about the ideology of prostitution. We see that even in ultra-liberal Europe, this activity is colored by public opinion in a dubious shade: the men in the film for the most part cannot perceive the prostitute as a life partner, the mother of their children, etc. The title of the film is not accidental - Dominic and her wards from the brothel at some level of consciousness, may wish for a different life, but they are too stuck in their occupation. And money that some cleaner will not earn, and illusions about yourself, which in any case can not be discarded - otherwise the sublime "priestess of love" will become a shameful prostitute. And with illusions, you can declare your self-sufficiency, and compare yourself with Mother Teresa, and it is easier to argue about the restoration of virginity. None of them, who call themselves Athena or Circe, will ever give up their illusions for fear of a hard blow to the ground by the goddess fallen from Olympus, whose self-styled status justifies any crime.
