The event takes place somewhere between the first and second part (approximately). We all know a lion, a hippopotamus, a zebra and a giraffe, built something like a balloon, and decided to go to New York, to their native zoo. And it was Christmas the day before, and a bunch of natives led by the unquenchable King Juneau decided that it was flying the so-called "red goblin" and knocked down our travelers. They did not smoke anything for what, and so almost tore poor Juneau, but just at that moment a real “red goblin” appeared on the horizon, and after the lion Alex knocked him down with a coconut from the palm tree, everyone learned that it was none other than Santa Claus, but his memory was lost and therefore someone must take gifts to the children, and this must be done by the “culprits of the celebration”.
Cartoons from the series “Madagascar” first of all for me differ in the degree of fun. No matter how good the plot, if the cartoon is not funny, then I did not like it. Cartoons should be fun for me personally, and dramas, crime films and so on should be depressing. Well, 'Christmas Madagascar' turned out to be less fun. Not as fun as the first part or the great penguin short, but at least better than the dull second Madagascar. Thank you for that. Of course, it's a bad thing that the film is only twenty minutes long, but I'm afraid it was necessary, because it's already obvious that the creators are running out of healthy ideas, and without them the film can not be made. Otherwise, if this glorious short were to make a full-length picture, the developers would run out of ideas just in the twentieth minute, just like in Madagascar 2. You know what I mean? And so the balance was exactly observed, the penguins were in place (albeit for a relatively short time), several more good characters appeared in the form of deer with a pronounced oriental accent. Overall, I was happy.
In general, it turned out to be a good short film, which, I am sure, will appeal to all fans of the original Madagascar.
