The reasons for the popularity of chainsaws are obvious - a gloomy aesthetic, strict costumes, cigarettes, katanas, demons, superpowers, an abundance of overt fan service. All this is also filmed in an interesting visual style with appropriate 3D, sellishing, cinematic angles. It looks very expensive. Of course, there is no discussion of deep philosophical problems, and you can find a lot of holes in the plot if you want, but the Chainsaw Man is not about this at all. Here, even the motivation of the main character is understandable and adequate to the situation, all according to the pyramid of needs, with the satisfaction of which Denji has historically great problems. This is a beautiful action movie in a world where only the most traveled survive, and many stories remain without a beautiful ending (as in life). It's simple, beautiful and stylish.

Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by Titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest Titans. Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a Titan in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a Colossal Titan that appears out of thin air. As the smaller Titans flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Eren vows that he will murder every single Titan and take revenge for all of mankind. close
