"Borsalino" by Jacques Dere, 1970. The producer in this film was Alain Delon and he starred in one of the roles himself, and the other invited Jean-Paul Belmondo. This is a retro film about two gangsters from Marseille (the case takes place in the 30s), Italians by origin (there were real prototypes). They started off as scammers, ended up as gangsters. The film, although not a comedy, is still made with a touch of comedy when we see their personal lives. They do become kings of Marseille’s underworld, but they are not happy. In the film, we hear the long-known music of Claude Bolling. I watched the film with great pleasure (I saw it a long time ago, but now I watched it with a completely different interest, including nostalgia). It was very cool to see the young Delon and Belmondo - such beautifully built athletes, with Delon even wider in shoulders than Belmondo. And the appearance is very consistent with the characters - the picture Delon and the natural Belmondo. To anyone who hasn’t watched or even watched, I recommend it. ---------------------------
