Comedy featuring Oscar-winning actors. The plot revolves around the play by Agatha Christie “Mousetrap”. She was playing in the theater and decided to make a film. The director and the screenwriter can not agree on the “key” in which to solve the concept of the film. And on the evening of the celebration of the anniversary of the play (100th screening), the director of the film is found killed in the dressing room. An investigation begins.
The film, in my opinion, is decided as a parody of middle-class detectives. It is deliberately replete with the cliches inherent in bad detectives: problems between the inspector and the superiors, do not develop relations between partners, drunken inspector, adultery and blackmail in the creative environment, stilted characters. And it's all comedy.
Maybe it's a bad comedy, but it's not a parody. There are almost no funny scenes, but as stupid as you want. I began to watch only because Sam Rockwell (master of comedy, winner of the Academy Award) and Adrian Brody (winner of the Academy Award) are involved in the film. But expectations were not met.
