Luc Besson watched a whole collection of films, including: “The Last Battle” (1983), “The Underground” (1985 – with Isabelle Adjani and Christopher Lambert), “The Blue Abyss” (1988 with Jean Reno), the well-known “Nikita” (1990), masterpieces – “Leon” (1994) and “The Fifth Element” (1997), a very good film “Johanna D. Arc” (1999 – with Milla Jovovich – I highly recommend it to see), “Angel-A” (2011 – a film project with Robert Solodovine) (2011), “The City with Michelleto Devita” (I highly recommend it to see Michelleto’s Sovita” (13), “The City with Michelleta” (2011) and “The City with Michellethyevine Devita” (2011), “The City with Michelleth” (I highly recommend it to Michellethyevine). Regarding Dogman, if a person has a pronounced taste in cinema, then he certainly saw roughness and flaws in the direction of Besson during his crisis of “equivalence”, identity ... the last 6 years. And so he (this sophisticated viewer) as I see in this movie style B-movie. In my opinion, with the very strong acting work of Caleb Landry Jones in this film (he played in such serious projects as: Three Billboards on the Border of Ebbing, Missouri, Nitram and the third part of the TV series Twin Peaks), here the director is a complete mess in terms of authenticity and social subtext in the context of dramatic functionality. Although there is a certain philosophy, it is slightly reflected in the quote that serves as an epigraph for the film: "When a man is in trouble, God sends him a dog" (quoted by French poet and statesman Alfonso de Lamartine). The film, to my taste, without touching the main character (it is very organic against the background of Piaf and Dietrich) lacked just a bunch in the audio presentation. There is some kind of madness over the aesthetic branches. The film was screened on August 31 in Venice (premier) and won the Fanheart3 Association Award for Best Film. The film is worth watching because of the masterpiece of acting work, there is a reference in three scenes to Shakespeare, who, if you remember... said: “My love is strength’ned, though more weak in appearance.” I love not less, though less the show appears: That love is merchandised whose rich esteeming The owner's tongue doth publish every where. I love it, but I talk about it less often. I love it more tenderly, but not to many eyes. The one who trades in feeling before the light He puts his whole soul on display. I recommend watching the film for those movie fans who watched Nitram, there is a brilliant work by Caleb Jones and here is no worse. There is a zest and a certain “piquancy”. For the whole movie, 6/10. Personal recommendation - Svyatoslav Kotenochkin and Pavel Nikiforov from Twitter. I'm waiting for the post.
