Besson, apparently inspired by the Joker, decided to shoot his story about a superhero and even came up with someone luckier than Aquaman.
The story of a guy who was very unlucky in life, and at the same time he was able to remain a person, is told slowly and methodically. The viewer, along with the psychiatrist, systematically receive information about how Douglas turned into Dogman, along the way asking himself questions - how would I behave in such a situation?
The soundtrack is very classic - there are Sweet Dreams and French classics. From the point of view of camera work, everything is also strong and without experiments. In the end, perhaps, it was a very crude symbolism.
It looks like a new wave of social superheroics is brewing, and that's a good thing.
