For a long time, there have been no such strong judicial dramas with legal and psychological components worked out from all sides. There is a sustained rhythm of storytelling and dramaturgy and a magnificent cast of actors, all without exception. But, to my taste, Ryan Phillip played best (a very unexpected reading of the role of a cynic). And the music here is diverse, emphasizing the necessary notes and cardiogram of the storyline. Bay City Rollers, especially.
The film is quality in every way. And in principle due to a socially delineated (literate) scenario. And a separate line is the work of production artists and costumers. Everything works in the same box office of that era. And watch and listen carefully. Every nuance is important. In this kaleidoscope.
“There are critical moments in every man’s life when he oscillates between the strict observance of duty and justice and the temptation of happiness, which seems to be attainable, if only he did not act as he should.” Theodore Dreiser.
Great idea film. I highly recommend it.😎
