Dupieus remains true to himself. He thinks paradoxically himself and makes the viewer think as well. (Me, anyway). Absurdity is the main value of this film. He turns an easy comedy plot into a serious film.
The plot is simple. A young journalist is trying to interview Dali and write an article in a magazine. Dali begins to be capricious and mock the journalist for his own pleasure, hoping that she will eventually fall behind.
But most importantly, Dali only feels like a great person in this behavior. It is not enough for him to be recognized as his greatest artist, he still needs to popularize himself as an extraordinary original in life and life. And he does. And the absurdity that goes with this persona in the film only reinforces that effect. After another whim, he agrees to an interview and interrupts it for a trivial reason. And so on several times.
Only the rich imagination of the director makes the viewer not lose interest in this trick.
