I have great respect for the great Polish director Agnieszka Holland for the films Korczak. "The Mysterious Garden", and series on the American platform, such as "House of Cards" and The wiretap, because it is in these films that her unique handwriting is seen. From the latest works...impressed Gareth Jones (2019) with Vanessa Kirby and Peter Sarsgaard, “Trace of the Beast” (2017) with Viktor Zborovsky, but it is necessary to note one important detail that his personal texture, style and “cinema scrub” Holland worked ... as an assistant to Krzysztof Zanussi and co-author of Krzysztof Keslevsky, and therefore for me her best work is Rewriting Beethoven (2006) with Ed Harris and Diane Krueger, and a masterpiece. Total Eclipse (1995) with DiCaprio and David Thewlis. “Green Border” received a special jury prize in Venice-2023 for acute social themes and showing the migration crisis, the plot is divided into 3 stories, and is shown in black and white, from this “theory of eloquence” of the director here completely sweeps away such points ... as kindness and mercy. It is hard enough to watch this film, but it highlights the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border in 2021, when there were Syrians and Africans, and draws an invisible parallel between migrants from Ukraine, who were respected and others. The film caused a lot of discussion in Europe, and in particular in Poland, even the Minister of justice of this country. Of course, the background and essence of cinema in the double standards reigning in the EU and not only. The film is very interesting, sometimes very scary. But such things should be shown, because they reflect all the spiritual values of our world. 8/ 10.I recommend the film to Tim Berestov and Svetlana Vasilyeva, due to the fact that Ukrainian relatives have experienced recently - you will understand the film better than others. I recommend everyone to watch the movie.
