Cuba in Spain Former British Army officer Robert Deipes arrives in Cuba to become a military consultant to the Batista government and help deal with the rebels.
He soon realizes that the moment is missed, and the revolutionaries will easily break the resistance of unorganized government troops.
However, with the departure of Deipes has to postpone due to an important circumstance: in Cuba is once beloved woman.
Because of the weak script, the whole film can be perceived as a kind of colorful and funny sequence of actions, because director Richard Lester until the last moment tried to come up with Sean Connery how to complete the film.
This is a story of not formed love: neither bright, nor hot, nor reciprocal. We often feel like we love a person when we don’t really know them. Often we love the position in society, money, atmosphere and tolerate the unloved. This film is a good example of such a situation.
All actors are good, beautiful, worthy and play with dignity and subtle humor of those years.
The box office was a failure, but the film can still please us.
