An interesting film by French director Michel Deville "The Reader", 1988. A young woman, Constance, reads her husband a novel for sleep, identifying herself with his heroine, Marie, who decided to earn money by hiring a reader to different people. But such an unassuming form of illustration to the novel read by her allows you to show and tell quite a lot, since the heroine approaches her work very unconventional, finding herself because of this in a variety of situations - from touching to sexual, from primitive political to satirical. In the title role of Miu-Miu, the most striking male role is that played by Patrick Schene. I would recommend it to French film lovers.
