Slovak hostel 2 All this boring stuff doesn't go anywhere. If in the first part you could see it at least once, then it gets boring very quickly. There is a place to laugh, though. I really liked this auction scene. With what elegant delight cried the lucky man who won. Well, a couple of little things in the direction of jokes about "dumb" Americans.
There are direct references to that in the film. Remember the conversation about Slovakia on the train: "Slovakia?" Is there a war there now?” Or at the end of the client dialogue before torture: “Imagine a country with no laws, only words!” And a bunch of things.
But still, something I can not believe that the Americans themselves this humor will reach : They will still be more afraid of Europe, as they were after the first part. Well, fuck them.
I don't understand why so many people think this movie is so much bloodier and tougher than the first one. There are scenes of violence: one or two and got screwed. In comparison with the first part, they are short and little remembered. And not so "bleak" and cruel. Only this scene with a scythe, and, of course, with Stewart's penis ;
I didn’t like it at all: the fact that the system of work of the mysterious sadistic organization was slightly revealed, that the director revealed the secrets of this “business”, conveyed the feelings of not only the victims, but also the “tormentors” themselves, “Executioners” talk about their complexes, families, suffer, facing a dilemma.
The first part of the topic took that mystery. And this disclosure, first, read from the very first frames of the second part. The second thing that struck me was that this organization is tied up all over the world. That is, it is such a hopelessness.
Sequels always do that. When many unsolved moments remain and questions appear, the audience tries to think and imagine all this for themselves. And here the creators offer them one option, and that, which is neither, disgusting and banal.
I don’t know what Roth would do (if he had the will and the time) to create a masterpiece again, but I don’t think it would work.
In general, the sequel is weaker than the original. But not so disgusting. It's worth seeing. Just a little below the original. Because nothing particularly new brings (and could it?), but remains in spirit with the original.
