Now, while watching the film, it became clear to me why Jane Austen loved happy endings and at the end of each novel, the heroine happily married and everything was very good. What you do not get for yourself, you can give to your heroes in abundance - and do it against all odds. There's a power in it, and there's an irony in it that Jane adored. It took a lot of courage to be a woman who wrote books 200 years ago. In order not to betray yourself, you always need a lot.
