No magic A story is a lie, but in it a hint,
A good lesson!
And what conclusions can an adult make after seeing this miracle? I am not talking about children, although the rating allows everyone whose age has reached 12 years to watch the film, but only uncles and aunts who are used to the modern disappointment of recent years can look at such perversions.
And no, by perversions, I do not understand the costumes of the main character, who showed all the charms of the young body, not bed scenes and even computer graphics, at the sight of which you want to close your eyes and quickly forget these roses, trees and stone giants.
By perversion, I mean all the bacchanalia that took place on the screen and beyond, starting from the moment “And let’s shoot everyone’s favorite old fairy tale in a new way?” and ending with the director’s cry “The finale should be a delicious three-minute kiss!”
I don’t even know where to start listing all the things that I didn’t like personally, because the whole movie immediately flashes through my head.
Since I have already touched on
computer graphics, I will start with it. Clumsy. Unreal. Extra. It has an element of magic, I agree. But in such quantity and so um slow? I understand that somehow you had to fill 112 minutes of time, so how could you do without a detailed flight through the forest thicket a couple hundred times, without a magical life-giving elixir glowing like water near a nuclear power plant, without a threateningly sparkling sky with painted clouds. I don’t know, this kind of graphics has only been seen in high-profile Disney projects in recent years. At least it didn't take up a good 70% of screen time.
The installation is murderous. So there's a dialogue going on. Cuts off abruptly. Quick change of staff. And the director has already forgotten that the dialogue was not finished properly, he is worried about the development of the plot, then barely frozen, then developing with incredible speed.
Part of the previous sin lies on the soul of the scriptwriter, KILLING the beauty of this romantic story, eradicating morality, adding template characters and turning off logic. Yours, of course.
Growing up on the story that Disney gave me, I expected a freedom-loving, intelligent, witty, kind Belle who would slowly explore the mysterious world of the castle and no less mysterious owner. I was shown a hysterical woman who, working for a crazy family for many years in a row, lost the opportunity to express her feelings (anyone). Why hysterical? And who else will shout so sharply, then love, then yell again, then finally and irrevocably fall in love without any obvious reason.
And don't call me a heartless cynic. I’m a romantic with a huge sensitive heart, raised on Jane Austen, Beauty and the Beast and other cute girl mind movies. But here it is really not clear why this miracle blonde fell in love with the beast with a bad temper and a huge castle. Did the creators want to convey to the audience the selfish goals of the young seducer (very inept)? No, I think that the story about the golden deer, large shots of the arrow and wild laughs of robbers was more important than the display of the slowly developing feelings of the main character.
Speaking of her. I already wrote above that she needed only a beautiful face, a minimum set of acting skills and the ability to run in lush dresses (I admit, she did it very beautifully!). Vincent Cassel was required...a name? I don't know what he left there. Of course, in the original we hear his voice the whole film, but to call Russian viewers on this name is pointless.
After watching, I want to breathe and forget. Forgetting as
terrible dream.
You may accuse me of bias. After all, Disney Beauty, which is referred to in every second review of this film, is my favorite film. One of them. But to accuse of drawing, torn plot and complete disregard of logic and taste, I will not blame the cartoon, in which dances and sings dishes, but the film, where people walk with the most serious expression. The French managed to kill all the magic, all the romance of this fairy tale.
Thank you? For a beautiful trailer and the work of costumers I put:
