Hamish Macbeth is a comedy-drama series made by BBC Scotland and first aired in 1995. It is loosely based on a series of mystery novels by M. C. Beaton. The series concerns a local police officer, Constable Hamish Macbeth in the fictitious town of Lochdubh on the west coast of Scotland. The titular character was played by Robert Carlyle. It ran for three series from 1995 to 1997, with the first two series having six episodes and the third having eight.

A very peculiar British series Hamish Macbeth, season 3 6+6+8 episodes, 1995-1997, about Constable Hamish Macbeth (Robert Carlyle), living in the tiny town of Lochdu somewhere in Scotland. He also performs his duties quite unconventionally, sometimes violating rules and even laws himself, his main goal is not to seek promotion, but just the opposite - to stay in Lohda so that no one touches him. The film is shot in a comedy-dramatic vein with light spots of the detective and even some tragic moments, there are light elements of mysticism. Characters one more grotesque than another, these are Scots through the eyes of Scots, who may not like places, amuse, surprise in places, but I was interested in watching with my ethnographic inclinations.

The Unusuals is a comedy-drama television series that aired on ABC from April 8 to June 17, 2009 in the U.S. and Global in Canada. The pilot and first episode were written by Noah Hawley, a former writer and producer for Fox's Bones. An ABC press release described The Unusuals as "like a modern-day M*A*S*H" that "explores both the grounded drama and comic insanity of the world of New York City police detectives, where every cop has a secret". Its premise elaborated:
The initial series order was for 10 episodes. Show creator Noah Hawley announced via his Twitter account in mid-May 2009 that ABC would not be bringing the show back for a second season. close
