The film in some circles associated with AI seems to be considered almost cult. But despite my strong interest in the subject, the film disappointed me. A boring melodrama in which almost nothing happens. The pity-inducing sad protagonist (so I want to say “loser”), who endlessly reflects on his divorce, pushes women away from him on the spot, and, like the cherry on the cake, falls in love with the voice assistant.
Then we see this strange relationship that raises all sorts of ethical questions. I understand that the film was started for these ethical issues (and in general it feels like a vibe of arthouse cinema). But why is it so boring? It's a fun idea, but the script must be shit. I don't understand such high marks. I don’t know what kept people’s attention to make the film interesting.
On the second attempt, the film was watched to close the gestalt (the first attempt was a few years ago). I decided to look at the background of the recent presentation of OpenAI and the scandal with the voice of their AI assistant, similar to the voice of Johansson from this film.
