The film is based on the story of Alexander Gromov, which I read in the early 2000s as a teenager and I was very impressed with her then, however, it is not difficult to surprise a teenager - adventures on another planet, cruelty, outlandish animals ... Now I can say that this story is very average, firstly it is built on the simple principle of "gradually dying team", and secondly it is completely removed from any external context (the history of one situation). It’s a bad choice in itself, because there’s not much going on there, so the film’s failures started right here in the idea stage. Then everything was done according to the American scheme – the first 15 minutes we shoot exactly according to the book, down to phrases, and then we beat such a cut that the readers’ eyes turn round. In the story, the privations of the heroes were painted in all details - their clothes were torn, they starved, received wounds, ate all sorts of horror, including human beings, there were descriptions of death (all this, of course, was not served on an unhealthy manic level, but on a harsh adventure), there was dirty and disgusting sex, in particular Juste raped Christie. In the film, everything was cleaned and licked too much. I agree that it was necessary to soften, but when all the events on Rotten Meli were replaced with their own, and the vicious cruel Just suddenly fell the death of a hero, I realized that the film is bad much more than the very definition of “Russian film” implies, and it is bad simply at the root. It can be seen that the authors somehow tried to diversify and animate the events of the story, in which there were no persecuting soldiers at all, but they did it very dimly. As a result, all the psychologicalism built on the interaction of the characters was cut out, all the hardship and suffering too, and the ending was changed from one bad to another bad. Why does the president have a ship parked in his exile zone that he once planned to go through all these monsters? Why is there a password of only four digits on the hangar? Why is this ship the only one on the planet that doesn’t depend on the internet? Finally, I did not like the clumsy use of American chips – in the first half there is a certain detail, a mystery, a phrase that you do not pay attention to, and in the end it is used as a key to solving the main problem – this is the plot of half of all Western films. To all this, the film also kills the voiceover (the friend of all shitty films that are not able to express their content with a picture), but thank you that at least the adventures of this voiceover do not end like this: “And then I died”, just so ends half of all fantastic stories in the first person. I don’t want to talk about acting at all, it’s not just bad, it’s not here. Directing is zero, too. The graphics are a bit, but they are good. Unfortunately, a single graphic film cannot be made.
In conclusion, I will say what the ending of the story was (for those who will not read it themselves). There was no talk of overthrowing the regime, no one was chasing the heroes. All they did was survive and go to the islands, dying one person each. Two Glavheroes crossed the pond on a moss raft, but soon Christie died, instantly falling into the swamp. In the end, the guy came to these islands alone, there really was a great climate and a lot of unafraid food, but he stayed there forever alone, no chance that anyone else will get there, because there is no other such computer.
