The film is excellent both in concept and implementation, but in the end there is one problem in it - the author himself threw a stranglehold on his work, most likely unconsciously. Therefore, 7 points, not 10, but now in order.
It should be noted that this film is very similar to the sensational "Leviathan", although the same furor on the world stage for some reason did not produce. In these two films, a huge number of details coincide, and the scene when the mayor gives a speech to officials, openly listing their sins - it is generally identical. But the films were shot in parallel, and there can be no plagiarism here. So this is an amazing coincidence. The same problems, gangsters in the government, the same drunks and cattle. And it's all true. In the Principle, it is impossible that not a bandit sits at the top, a normal person simply will not get there. It is scorchingly true that we have cattle who have completely lost their human form below, and freaks who are so enticed at the top that they consider them their right to saw millions. Films about this are heavy and not patriotic, but it is right. Don't blame the mirror if the face is crooked. By the way, “Fool” is better than “Leviathan” in terms of psychology, since there the negative characters are completely demonized and their hatred of the lower class is not motivated and completely infernal, and here the stories of the Kazan thieves are plausible, their hesitation is visible.
And now on the downside (spoiler, I warned):
The hero is killed by the very people for whom he so harnessed himself, risked his life and family. It turns out that it was not necessary to help them, it was not necessary to probe, to prove, to fight for their ideals. You know, somebody does. I'm not suggesting a happy ending, but authors could show that a good person can do something. Because if it can't, then why even film a problem that can't be solved? But the authors took up this, showed, forced to think, and in the end merged the idea that the hero stood up for people in vain.
