Do you believe in the afterlife? . . . It's a great movie! Brilliant cast! A wonderful game from which it is impossible to take your eyes off! Original color solutions! And many, many more virtues. . .
One of the few pictures that you can safely stretch on quotes, which you want to review more than once and in which every subsequent viewing will open all new, thoughtless earlier, thoughts and faces. A film that makes you think, and think hard, on a topic as eternal as the world. On the subject of the afterlife, on the theme of the terrible judgment, in which many prefer not to believe, but even the assumption of their reality causes an involuntary chill on the back. . .
I recommend that you start looking at it, discarding both the conservative religious ideas about heavenly judgment and the cynical view of the agnostic on it. Since the theme of heavenly judgment is presented here in a somewhat ironic manner, with humor, without the pathos of orthodoxy. Here the emphasis is deliberately placed on not using the concepts of heaven or hell, God or the Devil. No one really knows what’s on the other side of the tomb. This is only food for the mind, and everyone, both believers and non-believers, will find something for themselves in this film.
So, a terrible trial. The lawyer and the prosecutor consider the last act of a person in life in a positive and negative context, respectively. Why the last one? Because it usually reflects the whole essence of a person, for death, as usual, comes suddenly, and therefore, a person behaves as usual and characteristic. During the hearing, if necessary, witnesses are involved, now living or dead, episodes from ' films of life ' the defendant, where all his life is impartially shown. At the end of the hearing, the jury makes a verdict on whether to transfer the defendant to ' sector of reflection' or to ' sector of rest'. There are a lot of interesting cases. Murder and repentance, love and loyalty, crime and punishment, humility and pride, jealousy and generosity. However, even in this black and white world, it is sometimes very difficult to distinguish white from black.
The main idea that I have given myself is that each of your actions of little or no importance leads to certain consequences, and for each consequence there is a certain measure of reward or punishment. Don’t expect anyone to see it.
We often do things in passing that lead to irreparable consequences, of which it is too late to regret. Sometimes a person is given a second chance, but not always it is used effectively. It's sad. Perhaps people, watching this movie, will think about their actions. . .
10 out of 10 No doubt added to the home collection.
