Music in places, especially in dreams, where it works together with a cool visual style of dreams, evokes very strong associations with the work of Ghibli Studio.
Despite the local “strangeness,” there’s a very good story about how relationships can evolve and how layered they can be. Unlike their counterparts in the genre, here they develop, and “strangeness” serves as an excellent thick hint of empathy and talk about what is happening in the partner’s head.
The characters are well written, life situations, no one makes you feel a sense of Spanish shame, this is an achievement in itself for this genre.
It is worth reading the original manga, because the title owes a lot to her, and look for other works of this studio.
