Season one Over Ikebukuro again thickened clouds. The Bucks gang staged a pogrom on the territory of the neighboring district, and the bikers there, and especially their leader, were very upset. So much so that they decided to deal with violators. And according to Ikebukuro, the Russian mafia and the yakuza are chasing... a little girl. As usual, all this is the beginning of another game of the great manipulator Izai, who loves chaos because he knows how to control it.
The main idea of this season is the logical development of the idea of the second arch of the first part. Not only can the community you create continue to exist and operate autonomously, it can get completely out of control and even rebel against the creator. Through all this, one of the main characters has to go through to understand that being an honest and kind person, it is very difficult to lead people.
This time on the "stage" not only youth gangs, but also adult bandits. There are no complaints about the image of the yakuza, but the Russian mafia is something surreal. It seems that for the creators of “Durarara” that bandits, that the special services – all one. The leaders of the “Russians” are more like Chekists and wear something like a Soviet uniform. Crow and her buddy Elephant are some kind of parody of superspy fighters. There may be some subtle satire or humor in all of this, but I didn’t catch it. Before that, I dreamed: it would be great if the creators of Durarara!! and Baccano! after the adventures of American gangsters and Japanese punks would shoot something about the adventures of Odessa bandits of the early 20th century (in their style it would be cool), but now it is somehow fearful.
The crow, by the way, is an extremely annoying character. I don't like that kind of maniac girl. In women, this bloodthirsty composure is particularly disgusting. The elephant is funny, but its role is purely supportive.
Of the new characters, Rochi pleased. At first, he is also annoying, but then bribes his old-fashioned attitude towards girls. And, as it turns out, he is not just a ladies' man, but a real street fighter - withstood two blows Shizow (after the third taka fell)! Anyway, man. But Rochi's henchmen surprise with their ridiculous costumes. No, of course, the Japanese have peculiar ideas about the design of clothes (just look at their rock musicians), but still, I have not seen Bosozoku in tiger capes and white hats.
Izai, it turns out, has a brother and two sisters. The younger brother joined the big Ikebukuro Game, and unlike the older one, he prefers to be in the thick of events with rolled up sleeves and fittings at the top. The sisters have not shown themselves so far: apparently, their appearance is a groundwork for subsequent seasons. Like the second arch in a row, a visiting cop who wants to catch a Headless Motorcyclist is tumbling under his feet - he's doing almost nothing at all this season.
As for old acquaintances, the Celty line has become somewhat duller. She seems to flash often in the frame, but mostly it's just action - she catches up, runs away, fights, catches up again ... There is a lack of some development, and their daily life with Shinro began to show less, and therefore comic episodes decreased.
Shizow, as always, is great, there is nothing to say. One parkour in his performance of what is worth (in the screensaver he generally jumps on the roofs with a pole in his hands)!
Kadoto is cool as usual. And his company is crazy, but always on the side of good.
I don't understand why we were shown Kida Masaomi and his girlfriend. And very little Semen, although he seems to be a narrator behind the scenes of one of the series, but I would like to see him more often “in the flesh.”
Result: the first season is not strictly judged. In the plus - the presence of philosophy, humor, bright characters and a complex plot, in the minus - "unshot guns" and very strange Russians. In general, "Durarara" is still the same, we need to look further. 8 out of 10
