Director Glen Morgan is reviving the longest-running science fiction series, which received the status of a cult tape, 20 Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. In the new 6-part mini-project “Untitled X-Files Revival”, the world premiere of which will take place on TV-3 channel, the main roles again belong to David Duchovny (Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (Scully). The film takes place 13 years after the events of the original film. In the last episode, Scully gave her daughter to be raised in another family, and Mulder, sentenced to death, escaped from prison. The final chord was the kiss of the partners. Years later, two experienced special agents are still on guard. Fox Mulder, reputed to be an incorrigible fatalist, still has sympathy for Dana Scully and hopes to win the heart of a colleague. However, the wayward lady is more concerned about the future of the planet. Aliens who have settled among people, trying to get in touch with agents and do it not the best way. Employees of the department of paranormal phenomena of the FBI will face a mysterious crime, reveal the secret of monsters and pacify the raging otherworldly forces. In the first series, the director focuses on the public’s distrust of the government, which is trying to hide the truth about the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations. In addition, the writers finally give answers to the questions that have worried the audience for the previous 9 seasons: the creators explain why aliens have not yet taken over the world, and pay special attention to the love line. David Duchovny admitted he couldn't hold back tears as he read the updated script. However, it was not the content that touched him, but the familiar names on the page. In an interview, the actor added that there were unpleasant moments in the return to the role of an agent. The biggest casualty was daily jogging in the woods at 4 a.m. Producer and screenwriter Chris Carter did his best to bring back the actors from the original show to the series X-Files: Reboot. The agreement was reached with Robert Patrick (John Doggett), Mitcham Pillagi (Deputy Director of the FBI Walter Skinner) and Annabeth Gish (Monica Rice). The cast was joined by comedian Joel McHale, star of the series Community. He was entrusted with the role of the head of the news network and assistant to special agent Mulder. According to the creators, they did a great job not to immediately complete the TV show and plan in the future to release another 20-episode version.
Many years later, I was surprised to see that the continuation of the legendary cult series “The X-Files” was released, and with the expectation of again touching the unknown, I began to watch. But, whether I got older, or filmed not so, but the series did not come to me. So the truth is still out there somewhere.
