I like it even though I am not a fan of sports and/or motivating movies. A very high-quality written and filmed story, while simple as a paw, and this simplicity in this case worked (although it hurts many films). There is nothing incredible, unexpected, no mystery, no evil as such, but all attention is paid to the detailed disclosure of the hero (even two) and the focus of the viewer on the successes and failures, which he empathizes with the utmost. A good character, audience engagement, and a small idea at the end is a complete set of good movies. I also want to make an interesting observation that, unlike most movies, which are either stupid or smart, this one is completely intellectually neutral, presumably the viewer of any level of development will perceive it in the same way.
But the downsides. The film focuses too much on what Eddie Eagle has been able to achieve and seems to miss what he couldn’t. He's the worst skier in Olympic history. But the accents are placed so that when the film is forgotten, it can begin to be retold so that Eddie almost took second place. I also expected the film to cover a larger part of the man’s biography. And he subsequently broke his collarbone, in the years that followed, was barred from the games several times, became a singer, and in 2010 carried the Olympic flame in Vancouver - that's where the story was supposed to go. Instead, we were shown the original, so to speak. But even to that extent, the picture is good.
