Identification Most of the pictures about the loss of their own identity, when around do not recognize the acquaintances, you pretend to be someone else, and there are no available means of confirmation at hand, although they look with interest, but rarely when they are really impressive in their outcome. In this case, the thriller “Unknown” turned out to be a really great example of this plot idea, presenting surprise after surprise as the action progresses.
After the recent masterpiece “Child of Darkness” from Serra expect only something outstanding, and he brilliantly copes with the imposed degree of expectation in his new work. The only obstacle to the film is the PG-13 rating, which censored its visual potential. At the same time, the visual elaboration of the action and scenes of a variety of action was successful no matter what, the acting presentation of images is good to the ideal, and the script of the film turned out to be completely flawless.
Caught in a very difficult situation, the hero of Liam Neeson is struggling to understand himself and what is happening around, what this identification of his own personality and the search for attempts to produce it will lead to is impossible to imagine. The story was emotional and highly worked out in detail, literally all the characters involved in the plot leave a significant and bright mark, regardless of the importance of their own participation. Diana Kruger brilliantly plays the part of an illegal immigrant who has settled down to drive a taxi, and is not very willing to help the main character, who so once saved his life. Frank Langella perfectly copes with the villainous role, and Aidan Quinn in an equally villainous role effectively enters into verbal skirmishes with the main character. This, of course, is not all those who will be remembered after watching, but they in the acting ensemble of the picture I want to highlight all the same individual bright elements.
Since the beginning of the plot, the film regularly gathers pace, while the main character struggles with memories of his past, delving into his own personality in detail. The surrounding space, as if contracting, leads to the final scene, looping at each corner in various plot traps, confusing. But gradually brings all the lines into the overall picture from the scattered chaos of surrounding events, directing the coolest plot to the dashing, turning everything upside down twice, denouement!
The director managed to escalate the atmosphere and tension in the picture, regularly saturating it with chases, interesting turns and action, among which even some conversations came out with colorful and informative scenes. Serra for the second time shot an incredibly chic thriller, which can be safely taken as a sample and standard of the genre. Not to say that a true masterpiece, after all, some little things and restrictions here do not allow you to reach the highest level, but at the same time the movie turned out so cool and stunning that it pulls to watch again and again.
Unknown is a powerful, tense and emotional thriller that captures from the first minutes of its action, surprising and not letting go until the very end. Chic Liam Neeson again presents the cool type of a rather militant and brave hero, at the end playing straight in Die Hard, complementing the character with a strong emotional game and experiencing very strange events. Such a movie is exciting and impressive, staying in memory for a long time. The details formed in the final mosaic, stunningly unravel the tense action in the most impressive version. Such magnificent thrillers are a real rarity and you need to watch such a cool movie!
