Stipe Erceg is a film actor with German-Croatian roots. Erceg was born in Split, Croatia, on October 30, 1974. At the age of four, together with his parents, he moved to the German city of Tübingen. From 1996 to 2000 he studied acting at the Berlin European Theatre Institute. Upon graduation, he attended another course at the Grotowski Center in Pontedera, Italy. Thanks to many moves in his youth, Stipe speaks Croatian, German and English, as well as some dialects.

Erceg was born in Split, Croatia, on October 30, 1974. At the age of four, together with his parents, he moved to the German city of Tübingen. From 1996 to 2000 he studied acting at the Berlin European Theatre Institute. Upon graduation, he attended another course at the Grotowski Center in Pontedera, Italy. Thanks to many moves in his youth, Stipe speaks Croatian, German and English, as well as some dialects.
The actor’s creative debut in cinema took place in 2003, when he took part in the short film “Man” directed by Patrick Tauss. Subsequently, this work was awarded the “First Steps” prize.
A year later, Stipe makes a real breakthrough that radically changed his professional career. He is offered to play a major role in the film directed by Hans Weingartner.
"Teachers" where his partners on the set were Daniel Brühl and Julia Jench. In the film, Erceg plays the silent stranger Peter. Being a mysterious loner, he remains an unresolved mystery for his companions throughout the picture. However, over time they will be able to get to know him better and understand what he is really capable of.
In the mid-2000s, the actor was engaged in the shooting of several films, such as Nameless Finger (2005), City as Prey (2005) and Nothing but Ghosts (2006).
Recently, this charismatic Croatian actor can be found in such films as “The Baaden-Meinhof Complex” directed by Uli Edel (2008), “Phantom Pain” directed by Matthias Emke (2009), “The Butcher” directed by Wolfgang Mernberger (2009). The international project deserves special attention.
