Marco Ferreri’s film, The Wedding March, was made in 1965. The film consists of four novels - "First Marriage", "Marital Duties", "Marital Relations", "Happy Family". As can be seen from the names of these novels, we are talking about family relationships, it is filmed not in a romantic, but in a purely satirical style, and in the first novel it is not about marriage between people, although everything is arranged quite like in a human marriage. The following two novels are not so much about the full complex of problems that arise in marriage, but rather about sexual problems that couples cannot solve, in the latter we move to a future where people replace human partners and children with dolls. I can’t say that the film is outstanding, but it’s not bad in its kind, especially since the main male role in all four novels is played by Ugo Tognazzi.
