Conspiracy of the doomed A good continuation of a successful comedy from the very first minutes sets the right pace and adheres to the manner of narration until the very end. The picture can hardly be called a parody, as such, because instead of ridiculing certain cliches, what his colleague Austin Powers did, the new Agent Johnny English is more of a corporate Bond in a humorous manner. Brave, brave, with charisma and charm, but with an overly high self-confidence and appreciation of his abilities, he goes into battle and always remains the winner, no matter what. There really is something to watch here!
The incredible volume of comic and funny situations here is a real delight. Moreover, we must pay tribute to the incredible charisma and inimitable facial expressions of Atkinson, it is funny here not so much how the main character falls, or says a ridiculous phrase (dialogue about the mole deserves a stormy long-playing ovation!), but with what face he does it! After the picture I want to immediately watch the first part, and the series “Mr. Bean”, and various other films and shows with his participation. Rowan brilliantly reminded the world of himself, attracting interest not only to the new project, which turned out to be really killer and stunning, but also to himself and his work!
In addition to the hilarious comedy, which deserves applause, the action part also gracefully succeeded. This film is in many ways similar to the not so long ago released full-length film version of the series “Strain gyrus”. The tricks of the second "Johnny English" were successful! Here you can note even one of the most stunning chases in the history of cinema, such persecution of the villain and such tenacity of the main character will be remembered forever! And how many different fights and acrobatics are set, so simply the eyes do not cease to rejoice!
The agent’s mission this time is a criminal conspiracy closely related to his past and his dismissal from the Secret Service. A conspiracy of doomed villains, who nevertheless try their best and find their plan successful and brilliant. But a unique agent is able to confuse the cards to any player with his immediacy and courage. And where the best agents fail, the most absent-minded and self-confident of all succeeds, since even irrepressible conspirators who build insidious and cunning plans will envy his aspirations. And although English can easily fall into any trap prepared for him, he easily and with humor comes out dry from the most difficult situations and troubles.
Here, in principle, there are no intrigues or unexpected plot twists, and even the comic part is able to surprise much more plot with its absurdity, but nevertheless, the disclosure by the middle of the action of the map can even surprise the viewer, and the overall ease of narration occasionally cut into contrast with the notes of tension and interestingly twisted situation.
About the other characters, despite the star names available in the casting, it is difficult to talk and remember. All this, despite this or that importance of participation, is only the decoration of the benefit of Mr. Bean by Atkinson, on which absolutely everything rests here. And of the other characters, I want to note only the catastrophic uselessness of a black partner (the most ridiculous case of political correctness in the cinema...) and the memorable image of an Asian cleaning killer, always pursuing English, and putting him in an even more ridiculous position than minutes earlier.
A beautiful action comedy with the incomparable Rowan Atkinson, even despite some shortcomings and sagging action, the spectacle is impressionable and many times funny. With great pleasure, you can watch it several times, and smile regularly, remembering the best jokes and best moments of the film. This movie looks easy and with interest, and then for a long time remains in the memory of positive and positive impressions. Looking forward to more Rowan roles in the movies!
