Friends wanted to cure a friend from drug addiction and turned into zombies It’s no secret that all sorts of remakes or restarts spoil the franchise, for me personally an example is “Halloween 2007”, for someone “Nightmare on Elm Street 2010”, and for someone “Remember everything” or for example “And the dawns here are quiet” filmed by Asians with Russian actresses and actors.
Also nonsense and with endless sequels, again 7 and 8 of the original "Friday the 13th", the last parts of the original "Nightmare", etc.
The fourth sinister dead is difficult to attribute to anything listed above, this is rather another story about the Necronomicon. But does it spoil Sam Raimi's iconic trilogy? About it below...
Let’s start with the story because it’s a bit crazy. Well, it's a delusional one: a group of friends took their girlfriend out to the woods undergoing drug rehabilitation, of course everyone is happy except her. Then all rolled up, basement, book, spell and massacre.
A significant difference from Ash’s adventures (don’t call him that!) is the (almost) lack of a flying camera that implies something sinister, it just serves as a homage to the original. It is also worth noting the absence of Deadite, here the devil personally moves into people, and even then only in the main character and the girl from the prologue, and turns the rest into stupid zombies. In general, there are sometimes hints of the first two films, but only a knowledgeable person will understand them.
Disappeared humor and the very spirit of the madness of the original films, there are only liters of blood, meat and a very limited color scheme. Let’s get back to the main question, is the movie bad? Is he ruining Sam Raimi's work? Is it worth watching at all? I tell you, it's worth it. It's worthwhile and really scary and atmospheric horror, even the scene with the trees here is cooler than before. A separate bad word is to mention the acting, except for the guy with long hair, nobody played normally here, although this is the disadvantage of the writer of the script, it was he who made such uninteresting and boring characters and he should be hit on the head for it.
