Sophisticated woman-of-the world Adela Bradley and her chauffeur George Moody are an unlikely pair of investigators back in the England of the 1920s. Based on several novels by the English writer Gladys Mitchell, a small five-part series The Mrs. Bradley Mysteries, 1998-2000 was filmed. The main character of Adela Bradley (Diana Rigg) is not just a homegrown detective, as it often happens in English TV series, but a rather famous person, these films do not tell in detail about her merits, her books are mentioned, but I read that she was a consultant to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and also received the title of Lady. Gladys Mitchell wrote 66 books in which Mrs. Bradley was the main character. Here we see only a few of them - Quick Death, Death at the Opera, Moonrise, Lavras - it's poison, Woolen Viper. In all these films, Mrs. Bradley successfully solves all the crimes that, as bespoke, are committed in the places where she appears with her chauffeur George Moody (Neil Dudgeon). I can’t say that the series is very exciting, but shot diligently, the era is reproduced – mainly in the form of Rolls-Royce and Mrs. Bradley’s outfits, which will be interesting for those who are interested in the history of Art Deco costume.
