The future actor comes from a working-class family living in East London. His father was a truck driver and his mother worked in the school kitchen. Eddie was a student of an ordinary school, after which he went to work in a printing house and for some time studied with a printer.
However, the craving for art played a role, and the future actor decided to make his dream of acting a reality – he went to study at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where acting and stage speech were taught. Marchand completed his training in 1991, and his screen debut took place in 1992 in the television series The Piglet Files, where he played the role of a street bully.
Subsequently, the role of the criminal took root so much that this image became the most common in Eddie’s repertoire. It was in this role that he managed to manifest himself in various TV projects: Ultimate Force, Kavanagh QC, The Bill, Casualty, Silent Witness and Grange Hill.
Later Marchand refused to participate in television series – he moved to live in the United States and decided to test his abilities in diverse films.
