Writer, poet and theologian, one of the founders of fantasy. MacDonald's books had a great influence on Clive S. Lewis. Born in Huntley, near Aberdeen. Protestant priest, later preacher and lecturer. In 1855 he published the tragedy of poems "Inside and Outside", after the release of which he became a professional writer. The most famous works of MacDonald are the novels “Fantasy” (1858) and “Lilith” (1895), as well as children’s novels “Behind the North Wind” (1871), “Princess and Goblin” (1872) and “Princess and Cardi” (1873).
