Giovanni Giacomo Casanova (Giacomo Girolamo Casanova) Chevalier de Sengalt was born in Venice on April 2, 1725 in a family of actors. The ancestors of Casanova belonged to the ancient noble family of Palafox. After graduating from school in Padua, Giacomo continued his studies at the University of Padua. In 1724 he became a doctor of jurisprudence and entered the seminary of St. Cyprian. He was soon expelled from the seminary for immoral behavior.
Giacomo loved to travel. He visited almost all major cities of Italy, visited France, Germany, Austria and Poland. In 1746, Casanova entered the service of Senator Bragadino as a court violinist. Ten years later, the great hoodlum goes to prison for disrespect for God, for his intrigues and deception. In the same year, Giacomo escapes from prison and leaves Italy in a hurry.

In 1758, he left for Holland on a secret mission and soon ceased his espionage activities due to the dismissal of his friend Bernie. In 1759, Casanova returned to Paris and was imprisoned again, this time for card debts. He was soon released and Giacomo returned to Holland. He travels a lot in Europe and visits Russia. And everywhere he is famous for his love exploits and adventures.

His most famous books are “Memoirs”, “The Story of My Life”, “Neither Love nor Women”, “Love and Other Adventures of Giacomo Casanova, Cavalier de Sengalt, Venetian, described by himself”, “Refutation”, “The Story of My Escape from the Venetian Prison called Piombi”, etc.
In old age, Giacomo Casanova serves in the library at the Gut Dux estate in Bohemia. Together with the owner of the estate Giacomo is engaged in alchemy and magic. On July 4, 1798, one of the most unusual and mysterious people of the time Giovanni Giacomo Casanova died in Bohemia.
