Pavel Viktorovich Pepperstein was born on May 29, 1966 in Moscow, USSR. His father is a famous artist, his mother is a poet. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 1987. In the same year he founded the artistic group “Inspection Medical Hermeneutics”, which is considered one of the most productive and interesting formations in contemporary art in Russia. Pavel Viktorovich Pepperstein was born on May 29, 1966 in Moscow, USSR. His father is a famous artist, his mother is a poet. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 1987.
In the same year he founded the artistic group “Inspection Medical Hermeneutics”, which is considered one of the most productive and interesting formations in contemporary art in Russia. He founded the direction in art “psychedelic realism”.
Pepperstein participated as an artist in many exhibitions both in Russia and abroad. He is the author of several solo exhibitions: “Orthodox Sucks” (Dusseldorf), “Three Inspectors” (Prague) and several others.
Pavel Pepperstein also acts as a writer, published several of his articles on the problems of contemporary art. In 1993, Pepperstein published a collection of poems called “The Great Defeat and the Great Rest.” In 1994, the book Ideotechnics and Recreation was published. The author’s works have been translated into several languages.
In 2007, GQ magazine named Pepperstein the best writer of the year.
