In 1992, Simon, as a freelance journalist, began to actively cooperate with popular British magazines and newspapers, publishing materials devoted mainly to criminal topics. He has written articles for publications such as the Observer, Times, Daily Telegraph, Independent on Sunday.
Even the debut psychological thrillers of the author, which he wrote in the nineties, in an instant turned out to be bestsellers. In 2006, Beckett published his debut work in a series about Dr. David Hunter called The Chemistry of Death. In the same year, the work was included in the extended list of the Golden Dagger award, the award was awarded for the best criminal work of the year.
The most popular was the series about Dr. David Hunter, translated into twenty-nine languages and repeatedly included in the expanded lists of various book awards. In 2009, Simon Beckett was the best-selling English writer in Europe.
During his career, he published several novels, including Fine Lines, Animals, Where There’s Smoke, Owning Jacob. He also published the series “Dr. David Hunter”, which included such works as “Chemistry of Death”, “Perpetuated by Bones”, “Whispers of the Dead” and “Call from the Grave”.
The book “Perpetuated by Bones” tells about a terrible crime committed on a lonely island off the coast of Scotland.
Today, the writer lives with his wife in Sheffield.
