Rybakov’s field of study is the China of the Middle Ages, as well as the documentation and legislation of China in the period under study. Rybakov has published more than 40 scientific papers.
His first story in the genre of fiction “Great land” Rybakov published in the magazine “Knowledge – power” No 1 in 1979. Two of his author's books, the writer saw published in 1990, is the novel "Hearth on the Tower" and the collection of stories "His Weapons". In 1991, for these books he received the “Start” award, which is awarded to the best authors – debutants in the genre of fiction.
Also in the asset of the writer published translation of the criminal code of China during the Tang dynasty with the author's comments in four volumes.
Rybakov has been a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1989 and a member of the Union of Writers of St. Petersburg since 1992.
In 1986, the film “Letters of a Dead Man” was released, the script for which was written by Vyacheslav Rybakov. In 1987, for this work, the author received the Vasiliev Brothers State Prize of the RSFSR. In 2006, the writer wrote another script for the film “Despicable Swans”, based on the story of the Strugatsky brothers.
In addition to these works, Rybakov has a large number of written and published fantastic stories, novels and novels. Some of his latest works are: “Behold, I create” (2010), “Interns as a premonition” (2009), “The Wormwood Star” (2007), etc.
