Ferdinando Scarfiotti (Ferdinando Scarfiotti) – Italian production artist, winner of the Oscar for his work on the film The Last Emperor" Bernardo Bertolucci. Scarfiotti (March 6, 1941 – April 30, 1994) was born in Potenza Pichena, Macerata province. Initially, he studied as an architect, but one day fate brought him together with director Luchino Visconti, who helped him become a film director. In 1972, for his work on Visconti’s film Death in Venice, Scarfiotti received the British Oscar – BAFTA
