Czech writer Bozhena Nemtsova (née Barbora Panklova) was born on February 4, 1820 in Vienna (Austro-Hungary). Although it is believed that her father was a coachman and her mother was a keykeeper in the house of the Duchess of Zagan, her origins are connected with many secrets, up to the fact that there is a version that she is the illegitimate daughter of the Duchess and Prince Metternich. Czech writer Bozhena Nemtsova (née Barbora Panklova) was born on February 4, 1820 in Vienna (Austro-Hungary). Although it is believed that her father was a coachman and her mother was a keykeeper in the house of the Duchess of Zagan, her origins are connected with many secrets, up to the fact that there is a version that she is the illegitimate daughter of the Duchess and Prince Metternich. Bozhena was brought up in the estate of the Duchess of Zaganskaya. Literary activity of the writer began in 1843 with the poem "Czech women". Later, under the influence of the movement "Young Germany" and after acquaintance with Amerling and the school "Budech", she became interested in the national movement. In 1845-1847 Nemtsova’s book “Folk Tales and Traditions” was published. She sympathetically met the revolutionary events of 1848, sharing with her husband J. Nemetz the ideals of freedom and progress. For her speeches in the press, Nemtsova was persecuted by the authorities. Glory prose-realist brought Bozhena Nemtsova stories and stories of the 1850s: “Grandma”, “Wild Bara”, “In the castle and near the castle”, etc. The most popular story was “Grandma” (1855). The writer also collected and published in the Czech translation "Slovak Tales" (1857-58). Nemtsova’s strength was undermined by need and deprivation, and she died on January 21, 1962 in Prague. Nemtsova’s work had a huge impact on the development of Czech literature.
