Frankie Chan is a Chinese actor, martial artist, composer, director and film producer. He was born on November 30, 1951 in Guangdong. At the age of 15, he came to work as an assistant to composer Wang Fu Lin at the Shaw Brothers film studio in Hong Kong, and later began writing music for films on his own. In 1980, he played his first role, appearing in the adventure comedy Lip Reading. He was born on November 30, 1951 in Guangdong. At the age of 15, he came to work as an assistant to composer Wang Fu Lin at the Shaw Brothers film studio in Hong Kong, and later began writing music for films on his own.
In 1980, he played his first role, appearing in the adventure comedy Lip Reading. A few years later, Frankie also took up the production of films, and among his first directorial work was the romantic comedy Laughter for the sake of which he also took on the duties of a producer.
Twice during his career, Chan was nominated for the Golden Horse Award, a sort of Taipei equivalent of an Oscar, for his music for paintings.
