He was born on July 27, 1967 in Calcutta. At the age of six, he played his first major role in a children's play. In addition to the stage in school years, he was also seriously interested in boxing and rugby.
Boz began his career as a screenwriter of commercials, which he left after the release in 1994 of the film English, August, to devote himself fully to cinema. In 2001, he made his directorial debut in Everybody Says I'm Fine! Continuing to combine the game in front of the camera with filming behind the camera, Rahul noted participation in such films as:
