Mithun Chakraborty was born on June 16, 1950 in Calcutta, India, the son of a telephone company employee. The boy studied at Calcutta Scottish Church College.
After graduating from college, Mihtun got a job as a salesman in a cosmetics company and for a year traveled around the country selling perfumes. One day he caught the eye of an announcement about the recruitment of a group to the Film Institute at the acting faculty in the town of Pune. The young man decided to try his luck and went to enter the Institute, but since he was of low class origin, he was initially refused admission. Thanks to perseverance and talent, he later passed the entrance exams and began training.
During his studies at the Institute, Mihtun Chakraborty appeared in episodic roles in various films, for example, he played in the film.
