Alexey Pimanov was born in Moscow, USSR, on February 9, 1962. He entered the Academy of Communications in Moscow after school, from which he graduated in 1989. Then he studied at the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University until 1992.
Alexey worked on television since 1986, first as a video engineer on one of the local TV channels, then until 1989 he worked as a cameraman, after which he was offered a place in the editorial office of socio-political programs of the Central Television.
A few months later, Pimanov began to host the television program “Steps”, and in 1990 became a special correspondent of the TC “View”. In 1992 he created the program “Behind the Kremlin Wall”, where he was both a director and a presenter.
In 1993, Alexei was appointed director of the Resonance studio at Ostankino shopping mall. At the same time, he was included in the Interim Council for Improving the Protection of Freedom of Expression under the President of the Russian Federation.
From 1995 to 1997, Pimanov was a producer of TV programs “Football Review”, “Seven Days of Sport”, “Man and the Law”, and “Sport News”.
In 1996 he became the General Director of TC "Ostankino", since the same time he is the permanent host of the program "Man and law".
In 2005, he acted as a screenwriter and director of the television series “Alexander Garden”, where actors Ksenia Kuznetsova, Dmitry Zhulin, Alexander Grushin, Andrei Sukhov and others were filmed.
In 2007, Alexey Pimanov worked on the creation of a feature film.

Alexey Viktorovich conducts active public and political activities, at different times he was a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, was elected a deputy of the Verkhovna Khural of Tyva, from January 2011 to September 2013 he served as a senator in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, and in October 2013 he became the head of the Red Star media holding.
