Armen Martirosyan is an Armenian composer and musician.
He was born on February 25, 1963 in Yerevan. He received his first music lessons in early childhood from his grandmother, at the same time, his parents introduced him to such serious art genres as opera, ballet and symphonic music concerts.
In 1970, he entered a prestigious music school, having an enviable sense of rhythm and an absolute musical ear, and surprising teachers with his abilities, including composition. In 1978, the 14-year-old met the outstanding composer and teacher Edward Mirzoyan, who had a serious influence on the young man. In 1980, he entered the composition class of the Yerevan Conservatory.
Martirosyan has always been distinguished by the innovative nature of his work. He was the first Armenian composer to use computer technology in music.
From 1991 to 1995, he worked as a pianist in Switzerland, then in 1997 at the Armenian Song Theatre as a producer and arranger, then became artistic director and conductor of the Armenian Jazz Band. He also established himself as a member of Armenia’s Eurovision Song Contest in 2010 and 2015.
