Shinobu Yaguchi was born on May 30, 1967 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. While still a student at Tokyo University of Art and Design, he began making short films. It was this “hobby” that made him rethink his plans for the future and enter the new world of production of feature films as an assistant decorator. As time passes, Yaguchi tries his hand at many areas of visual art, including making video clips, commercials, and writing scripts for comics.
He specializes in films about “good movie heroes”, where people, having gone through serious trials and faced with great difficulties, do not bend or fall down, but, on the contrary, harden themselves in these difficulties and achieve success, that is, win.
After completing two of his short films, he spent two years creating them.
Film "Rain Woman" Shinobu Yaguchi won the Grand Prix at the PIA-1990 Film Festival. All the money received from this award, he invested in the shooting of his first feature film “Picnic barefoot” (1993). This film was recognized and marked by the highest rating at many international festivals.
Golden rain from the awards does not cover the eyes of a talented screenwriter and director, does not give time for relaxation. And already in 1996, his second art painting “My Secret Treasures” was released, which debuted at the Berlin Festival. This film earned Yaguchi a Special Jury Award at the Hawaii Festival. The greatest resonance abroad caused his third art work. Adrenaline Drive was recognized as the best and most successful of his creations. The films released by the Japanese director Shinobu Yaguchi brought him wide fame in Europe and the United States.
Today he is one of the ten most promising and promising young directors in Japan. /
