Steve was born in 1950 in Wellington, studied at the University of York and during this period founded a duet with musician, drummer Han Bennick. Later he played in the group of a prominent British musician and improviser, avant-garde artist Derek Bailey.
In the following years, Steve collaborated with many other famous musicians, performed solo as a pianist, since the late 1980s he began to write music for films, including the 1989 film “Repentance”, a musical film.
