Marc Caro is a talented French director and screenwriter. His story is closely related to Jean-Pierre Jeunet. They both started out as comic book artists and then started making animated films. Probably, many remember the funny shorts “Escape” in 1980, “Manege” in 1978, “Bunker” in 1981. It was with these films that it all began. The debut of Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet was a black comedy called Delicates. This work won the 1991 Cesar Award for debut and screenplay. The film included mocking plots on the huge layers of French cinema, up to the pre-war poetic realism. The final scenes of the work included numerous photo and film footage of the destroyed Berlin Wall. The directors created unusual films with lusciously drawn characters and stylized apocalyptic entourage.
These were really brilliant works of filmmakers. A memorable accent in the painting
"Delicates" It becomes a scene with a walking walker house (in which all the characters live) to the accompaniment of a creaking bed with a couple in love.
The second feature-length film by Marc Caro and Jean-Pierre Jeunet was City of Lost Children in 1995. A lot of money was spent on the shooting of this picture. In style, this work largely echoes the “Delicates”. After the filming of City of Unnecessary Children was completed, the duo broke up. He continued to work in Hollywood and shot Alien 4: Resurrection, following the example of J.-J. Annault and L. Besson. And Mark Caro plans to turn to low-budget projects again.
