Yakov Naumovich Lapinsky – Soviet, Ukrainian composer, teacher, Honored Artist of Ukraine. He was born on January 7, 1928 in Uman. In 1955 he graduated from the Kiev Conservatory in composition class, and since then he has written a lot, and also performed as a pianist and conductor. Since 1980 he began teaching at the National Academy of Music, in 1994 he became a professor.
